Harvest Church is a group of ordinary people from all walks of life and nationalities, who have each met an extraordinary God who is transforming our lives. We have come to know Jesus in different ways but are all on a journey to become more like Him and help each other to follow Him.
We would be delighted to help you in any way. Please just ask – we’re very approachable and have people dedicated to help you!
Harvest Church (formerly AEFC) have a history dating back 75+ years here in the market town of Alton, Hampshire.
We are a part of the worldwide family of churches called Commission (a part of Newfrontiers). We are involved with other local churches and work in collaboration with them on many projects in the town, as well as being members of the Evangelical Alliance.
The Eldership Team are responsible for the leadership, oversight and pastoral direction of the Church. They are recognised in their role by the church body, by their co-elders and by those who apostolically serve us from our Commission family of churches.
Eldership Team Leader
(full-time)
I am married to Emma and we have 2 adult sons. We became part of Harvest Church in 2016, I carry the role of Eldership team leader and Trustee. For relaxation I love anything to do with being on or in the sea, often doing both on any visit!
Elder
I am married to Helen and have three grown children. I am from Cornwall, but have lived in Alton and have been a part of Harvest Church since 1996.
I enjoy cycling, walking, caravanning and narrow boating.
Elder
I am married to Clem and have two sons and six grandchildren.
I retired as a Headteacher in 2019 we moved to Farringdon and joined Harvest Church. I enjoy cycling, running, walking the dog and gardening.
Deacons together with elders form our wider leadership team in Harvest Church. They each have specific areas of responsibility.
Chair of Trustees.
I'm married to Judith. We joined Harvest Church in 2020, having moved from Dorking where we were involved in the local church for 30 years. I serve as Chair of the Grain House Trust, the charity with legal responsibility for Harvest Church and Alton Maltings, ensuring an effective connection between the Elders and the Charitable Trust.
Worship
I’m married to Ady, and have 2 children, Lily & Henry. We have lived in Alton and have been a part of the Harvest family for over 10 years.
After coming to faith in 2012, I began to feel God calling me to join the Worship Team at Harvest Church.
I now lead the Worship Team and have the great privilege of serving the church using the gifts that God has given me.
International Mission.
I'm married to Jan and we have a son Daniel. International Travel and Outreach have always been in my heart. Starting in South Africa I was involved with a building project and HIV outreaches. I have since led various teams out to a children's centre in Uganda involving building, teaching, medical and training projects.
Youth.
We have been married for 20+ years and have two teenage children. Until recently we had both worked in education for over 20 years until Tom became the Bookings and Communications Officer at Alton Maltings. We have been members of Harvest since we were married and have served as youth leaders and life group leaders in that time.
Harvest Church operates under the Grain House Trust (GHT) charity. The latter also has a subsidiary, Alton Maltings Centre Community Interest Company (AMCCIC), that is responsible for managing Alton Maltings. We therefore have trustees of GHT and directors of AMCCIC who work together to ensure good governance of all that we do.
