Welcome, a little about who we are...

Harvest Church is a group of ordinary people who have each met an extraordinary God who is transforming our lives. We have come to know Jesus in different ways but are all on a journey to become more like Him and help each other to follow Him.

We would be delighted to help you in any way.  Please just ask – we’re very approachable and have people dedicated to help you!

Harvest Church (formerly AEFC) have a history dating back 70 years here in the market town of Alton, Hampshire.  We are a part of the worldwide family of churches called Commission (a part of Newfrontiers). We are involved with other local churches and work in collaboration with them on many projects in the town, as well as being members of the Evangelical Alliance.

What can you expect on a Sunday?

We are so glad that you are checking us out.

Going anywhere for the first time can be daunting. You may be worried about where to go or what to do. That’s why we make our meetings as welcoming and friendly as possible.

We meet together on Sundays at 10.30 am, in Alton Maltings.  After a brief welcome, we will spend time praying together & singing songs of worship to Jesus because He is wonderfully changing our lives. We’ll also share stories of all God has done.

Normally, at around 10.45am, our children’s activities, entitled The Source, start for age groups from 0-16 years. If you would like your children to join in, they are more than welcome (In Harvest Church we operate a Safeguarding Policy, with all our children’s workers having DBS checks).

After some announcements, there will be some teaching from the Bible, followed by an opportunity for anyone to receive prayer. After our time together please stay on for refreshments around noon.

What else you might need to know:-

Car Parking - we have about 50 free car park spaces and 2 blue badge parking spaces, first come first served. There is also usually free on street parking in Maltings Close.

Toilets - There are clearly signposted toilets off the reception area as you first come into Alton Maltings. They are on ground level to the right of the main auditorium, Tyndale or down the stairs and turn right. On both the ground floor and lower floor there are accessibility Toilets.

Will I be expected to join in? All the song words will be projected onto large screens at the front of the hall. If you want to join in and sing, then please do. But if you would rather just observe then that's fine as well!

Is there a dress code? Nope, There is no dress code. Please come wearing whatever you feel most comfortable wearing.

Everyone is welcome - just come as you are. Hope to meet you soon.

What else?

As a church, we meet mid-week in small groups, in homes across Alton and beyond, called Life Groups. There are also a number of Impact Groups, which tend to be interest groups e.g. walking, baking, crochet, and classic cars, etc. these are a great way to meet and chat with other people. We also have a group for people who are new to Harvest Church, the Connect group, you are welcome to join.

We are actively involved in serving our community through a number of initiatives, including One Way, Lighthouse, Youth Groups, CAP, Stepping StonesAlpha, Alton Town Pastors, and through making our building available for our town to use, with several thousand visitors every month.

You can find more information about who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved by joining us one Sunday.  We look forward to welcoming you.
